Community Service

"Righteousness does not consist in whether you face towards the east or the west. The righteous man is he who believes in Allah and the last day, in the Angels and the Book and the Prophets; who for the love of Allah gives his wealth to his kinsfolk, to the orphans, to the needy, to the wayfarers and to the beggars, and for the redemption of captives; who attends to his prayers and pays the alms tax; who is true to his promises and steadfast in trial and adversity and in times of war. Such are the true believers; such are the God fearing."

- Holy Qur'an, 2:177

UMF's Hungerteam has been serving in our local communities for over a decade. Hungerteam projects include Breakfast Club and ECRA.

Breakfast Club

Based in Central Florida and with volunteers across the nation, United Muslim Foundation Breakfast Club has been quietly serving people in need through community service for years. UMF's Breakfast Club volunteers participate in a variety of events like helping people in need from serving at soup kitchens and orphanages, picking fruits and vegetables at local farms to donate to the needy, getting food, clothes and school supplies to donate to schools and charity festivals, running marathons to help those with cancer and so much more.

ECRA: Every Child Reading Ahead

ECRA is an acronym that stands for 'Every Child Reading Ahead'. It is also the first word Allah revealed to Prophet Mohammed (SAW) with the command 'Read'.

Literacy is very important, because it builds knowledge and broadens one's view of the world. ECRA incentives are focused on low income neighborhood schools, helping children develop a love for reading and learning.

UMF Volunteers can tally up their community service hours as recognized by Seminole County School Board & Bright Futures. Join us to become part of a team that’s making a difference!
